Re: fast ecm-help-
All aftermarket ECM that I know of don't require the cold start injector - they just add pulse width to the 8 port injectors during cold start.
As for choice of ECM's there is a wide choice from modified GM ECM's to high value/$$ spent like Megasquirt to high end products like Big Stuff3 or electromotive. Before you decide on an ECM take some time to compare $$$/features. Nothing wrong with FAST if you have $$$ to buy it.
At the end of the day they all will run your engine, the amount of know how/ and time to get the tune right varies.
Personally I run megasquirt and am satisfied with it. If you add a wideband O2 sensor like inovate or others to a megasquirt system the optimization s/w that is free will get you a running tune within 3-4 2 mile drives. This leaves only the full power tune which is best done on a chassis dyno regardless of which ECM you end up choosing. Full power runs on the street are inaccurate and its hard to find enough road to fully load the engine at WOT to do it safely.
I think in 1990 GM deleted the cold start injector and just used the main injectors.
Hope this helps.

Re: fast ecm-help-
Where are you located? There is probably someone in the area that can tune the car for you to run with your setup and the factory ECM.
If you haven't found anyone, try calling Arizona TPI at 480-921-5500. I know their tuner has been doing it for as long as the equipment was available to do tuning. They can also do mail order tunes. There are others that can also do mail order tunes but a local tuner is your best bet since they can always do it better than a mail order attempt.

If you are still in need of help, give me a call. I am a former GM engineer and a FAST dealer. I race a stock eliminator L98 fuel injected C4 with a FAST XFI unit. I can probably answer any questions that you may have.
