870 to 165 swap prob

Ok followed directions from swap guide and gone over it many times to make sure I got the wires right. My prob is my car will crank and start for linke 2-3 secs and dies. At 1st I thought it may have been fuel pump related, but it worked before the swap. After much research and messing with all kinds of relays, fuses, wires. I think I may have it figured out. I am useing a 89 hypertech chip 128922 so I am pretty sure it's the VATS. But also 89 didn't have the 9th cold start injector. So my question is if I get a vats bypass(if I can even do that) will that cause a problem still or should I just get a 86-88 prom.

Yup this swap all started with my $40 cragislist prom and now I may not even be able to use it.

Re: 870 to 165 swap prob

Ok I don't have vats to start with so getting a bypass wouldnt work unless I got a vats module or w/e. Fuel pump is runing gonna check the pressure tomarrow was set at 45psi. If the cars sits it will run for about 3 sec then die, but after that it only runs for about 1 sec. Also will try unpluging the 9th injector.

Still if it is vats the only options I can see are
1 buy a new chip(hypertech)
2 have a chip burnt(car has unknown cam/compression is high from 305 heads but not sure what)
3 buy something to burn my own chip or tune it

If I went with option 3 I'm not sure what would be my best route. Could I buy a burn2 $85(if that is all I need or would i need other stuff?) and just remove vats from my chip. Autoprom looks cool but thats like $400+ I think for all the stuff plus a laptop.

Option 1 or 2 I may still have probs cause of the far from stock parts

So what about a 4th option? Someway somehow rig up something to bypass vats to the ecm and hope the probs from 1 or 2 dont happen.

5th and final option buy a dang carb/intake/distributor/fuel reg/change the tranny and stop bugging you guys. Yah that don't sound so hot after I've spent $400+ in FI only stuff and a $300 brand new killer deal fogger kit I picked up.

I just wanted to swap my ecm and go from there cause I read the 85 ecm sucks and having a 305 prom will never run right(and it didnt) with a 350 and now it's snowballing.
