I have this chip for my car but what does it do really? I heard it makes the fan come on earlier, and I need a different thermostat? How cooler will the car run?

Re: Hypertech Thermomaster

They sell a 160 therm that they suggest should be used along with. Most of us here will disagree. A 180 therm is a better choice. I think the chip will turn on fans at a lower temp which is acceptable. The chip I recall leans out the WOT(PE) a tad. Not sure is it adds timing. It might. But that can be done globally at dizzy as well.

Re: Hypertech Thermomaster

would you guys recommend putting this chip in the car? Why is the 180 better than the 160 thermo?

Wont go into closed loop. May then disallow overdrive. Increases pollution. Wastes gas.
