PLX Wideband O2 Simulated NB

Does anybody know how the get the simulated NB output to work with the EBL, i cant seem to get it to into closed loop.

Heres what i have changed so far to try to get it to work.

Closed Loop - O2 Upper/Lower go into CL

Stock was Lower = 199.64mV
Upper = 798.56mV

New Lower = 25mV
Upper = 975mv

Closed Loop - O2 Upper/Lower stay in CL

Stock was Lower = 351.54
Upper = 598.92

New Lower = 25mV
Upper = 975mV

Heres the link to the the chart showing the simulated output of the NB
http://www.plxdevices.com/Installati...UsersGuide.pdf

I noticed that its idleing around 15:1 so at that range the output would never let the computer go into CL so thats why i opened up the CL enable range. Are there any other settings i may be missing

Re: PLX Wideband O2 Simulated NB

For the simulated output it needs to go to the wire to the ECM in place of the standard NB sensor. Pin D7. Not sure if you did this or not, so figured to mention it.

For the O2 Go To and Stay in Closed Loop values. You need to go the other way, move the values closer to 450 mV to make it easier to go into and stay in closed loop.

The O2 value has to be higher or lower then the values in the tables. Basically, outside of the values. Think of the area between the values as 'no good.' And once the O2 goes outside of these values then it will go/stay closed loop.

Re: PLX Wideband O2 Simulated NB

Ok, so if i have this right, if the o2 sensor were to be at 450mV constant after the intial warm up period the the computer would never go into closed loop because there's no need for adjustment? I i thought logic would be it would have to be inside the window to let the computer know the o2 sensor is warmed up and ready to take readins from. Is there any way you could explain it diferently so i get the understanding of the process i hate not knowing how its suposed to work?

Re: PLX Wideband O2 Simulated NB

An O2 sensor that is sitting at 450 mV is not warmed up. In actuality, the 450mV the ECM reports is from a bias inside of the O2 sensor amplifier chip. This is the same as if the O2 sensor was disconnected.

A cold O2 sensor provides no output. It needs to be hot in order to generate a voltage.

A NB O2 sensor is also more of a switch. It bangs rich/lean and has difficulty staying near 450 mV output.

Once the O2 sensor starts going high and/or low the ECM then knows that it is up to temperature and ready to be used.

Once in closed loop the fueling logic then causes the AFR to oscillate. You will be able to easily see this with the Analayis graphing.
