Check the basics... fuses, then spark and fuel. Missing spark and/or fuel, gotta figure out why. FSM would be good here, but I don't know the quality of Porsche manuals (or availability for that matter).

i actually figured out why its not running, its not giving spark. i changed the coil (new msd) spark plug wires (accel) rotor and cap. and still im getting no spark i am at a loss i still need to check trouble codes.... but any idea why im not getting a spark? i have been told that the porsche 944's are notorious for blowing ecu's i was told that by swithching to a good ecu it will fire up.

Re: need ecu help!!!??

Could be the input to the ECU... not sure how porsche does it. Might be in the distributor, might be a bad ECU. I had a problem with my GTA where it would sporadically give no spark; wound up being a bad wire in the distributor harness. Wired in a new pigtail and voila, problem solved. I figured it out by using a scanner (moates cable and s/w) to see that I wasn't getting any RPM to the ECM. If you know someone nearby that you could swap ECUs with to do a test, that would be an easy way. There's likely a local porsche club to you.

Good luck, and keep us posted.
