16149396 vs 1227727

While searching for some info I stumbled across this information. If this is true does that mean that I can run $8D on a 16149396 ecm?

Info found at Untitled Document

"...Cars with the 91-93 3.4L DOHC V6 use a 16149396 PCM, which is identical to the 1227727 ECM, but with additional SRAM installed into a space which is left empty on the 1227727..."

Thanks for the info. I'll have to spend more time on Ludis site.

Yes, you can run $8D in that ECM. The extra SRAM will not be used. I usually take the stock SRAM out and put one of those battery backed SRAM modules in there so it will remember things when you turn it off.

The answer is yes, I have.

Why don't you think it will work? They are identicle ECMs except for the added 2k of SRAM.

I have also run 8F in a 9396. Well, sorta 8F, it started out as 8F.
