EEPROM Emulation Question

ok...I have made a bit of a comeback from my job layoff and before this whole ordeal went down, one of my next purchases was to be an EEPROM burner. So...on to my question:

I know I can get the standard PROM writer and go crazy making chips and that's all good...and I can also get something like the Prominator and run a real-time tune. Now here's the real question: If I get the Prominator and connect it to the ECM and a notebook computer, download the tune into the Prominator and disconnect the notebook, I'm pretty sure that the Prominator will still work...but will the Prominator hold the tune with the notebook computer disconnected and the key off? I don't have a dedicated computer to keep in the car to run the Prominator off of and I need to know if I can basically just tweak with the tune on the weekends and run the Prominator (sans notebook) throughout the week without any foreseeable problems?
