All that screen shows is that winALDL is not connected.
Double check the WinALDL configuration, port settings, the cable, ALDL terminals, and car must be in the "On" position or engine running.
Serial to USB (RS232) converters have caused issues for some, though I've never had any such problems.

What ALDL pin, "E", or "M?"
The manual states that the serial data is available at both pins, but "E" is a 160baud rate.
I tried Turbolink, and EFILive. The comm link fails on "E, or M" on both scanners, although my rs232 breakout box data led does flicker when the key is on.
I emailed Jonas at Winaldl about the data pin:

Hello Raul,
If you have an 88 TPI Camaro then yuo should have a pin on E.
You can try using M instead because I don't think you should have one there.
Perhaps a previous owner moved the pin.
Jonas

The red light beside the word configuration was blinking and the ct was changing along with the proid... maybe I had a poor at the serial data line

Okay I found something but have not tested it yet... For the 165 ecm it has to have a 10 ohm resistor jumpered across terminals A and B.... for the ECM to release the data. I know you collect the serial data from terminal E

ALDL Mode Description
The SCAN tool can be used in 3 different modes:
- The normal or open mode
- The 10K, special or ALDL mode
- The factory test, back-up or 3.9K mode
In the special mode, all information incorporated into an engine/ECM combination is available. However, in the special mode engine operating characteristics are modified as follows:
- The closed loop timers are bypassed
- EST spark is at full advance
- The IAC (if equipped) controls idle speed at 1000 RPM
- The park/neutral restrict functions are disabled
- And on some engines the canister purge solenoid is activated.
...the remaining terminals of the ALDL connector allow access to specific system circuit information. Terminals ``E'' or ``M,'' depending upon the application, allow for the connection of SCAN type testers in order to read serial data.
Although not all engine/ECM `families' are able to transmit information on the serial data line with the SCAN tool in the normal (open) mode, on engines that can be monitored in the open mode the SCAN tool allows data on certain operating parameters to be obtained without changing engine operating characteristics. Selecting the factory test or back-up mode causes the ECM to operate on the fuel back up logic programming, designed to allow system operation in the event of an ECM failure. While selection of this mode verifies that the back up programming is functioning properly, parameters that can be checked with the tool in this mode are of little value in diagnosing system malfunctions.

yes!!! I got it working. It took the 10k ohm resitor for it to work.
Now I need to find out which one is the fuel trim...

Right on ! . . one step closer.
The ECM corrections to your VE tables can be seen under BLM tab.
edit: perhaps I spoke too soon. This is not your TBI car.

I wish there was write up for this program...
Do you know of any other program that uses the same cable?
Thanks!!!

If you installed to the default location C:\Program Files\WinALDL then you'll find your log files there. BLM, INT, and 02 as well but you save those indepentantly on each tab.
WinALDL is a great program and you really don't any other. Add a WB02 for WOT and fine tuning and you can't go wrong.
If you haven't already, read through all the stickies on the DIY PROM forum. They're full of insight for what your gonna be looking at.
