Car: used to have red 1991 camaro RS
Engine: with 305 TBI
Transmission: Borg Warner T-5
Axle/Gears: and 3.08 open 10 bolt
ecm identification
how do you indentify an ECM. i have one that i got off a guy for like $50. he said it was from a z28. its got a little black box mounted on top of the plastic mounting thing. is it possible i have one from TPI car?? are there any numbers on the box or do i have to tear into where the PROM is? any info is appreciated. thank you for allowing me to post.

Car: check
Engine: check
Transmission: check
Look for the Service Number on the ECM. If the label is still intact it will be on that. If no label then open it up and post the 4 letter code on the silver label of the EPROM.

sorry for the wait. i had some computer issues that needed to be dealt with. here are all the numbers i could find on the ecm. this is the silver box that is attached to a metal bracket. 0 280 215 001 then says BOSCH the next number on it is: 141080620. now for the numbers on the ecm itself. the little white tag attached to the cover plate had this number on it: 16050021. it had a barcode on the inside when i took off the plate this is the number from it: 255001100275014. hope this helps you. i have no idea what i've got. thanks for the help rBob
