Can not set minimum air..... Help please.

Check my sig for info.

I can not set minimum air (IAC adjusment) routine due to the fact that the engine continually stalls out. I followed the procedure by inserting a paper clip between ALDL ports A & B. Turn key on, wait 30 seconds, pull the connector to the IAC. Turn key off, remove paper clip. Start engine. The engine will not continue to run without me keeping my foot on the accel. So I open the TB one full turn and try again. Same result I opened the TB two full more turns, same result.

I think now what I need to do is to drill a small hole in the TB plates.

Has anyone done this?

I'm thinking this because its a 395 cu in engine 45 more cubics than I had before, and also, I have a bigger cam with more duration. I now that people with big cams on the LS1 boards have drilled their TB plates.

OK, I drilled the TB plates with 1/8" hole each and the engine idles better without stalling out on me every time a come to a stop while in gear. The IAC was maxed out even with the TB adjustment screw out 3 full turns.
