I HAVE AN EXTREAM ENERGY 268 CAM AND EDELBROCK ALUMINUM HEADS ALSO HEDMAN HEADERS MY PROBLEM IS A ROUGH IDLE I AM USING ALDLMON TO MONITOR ECU I WANTED TO KNOW WHERE SHOULD THE IAC BE AT IDLE?MINE GOES RIGHT TO 160 AND THEN DIES.
IF I STEP ON THE GAS AND IT GOES IN TO CLOSED LOOP IT GOES TO 160 IVE ALSO HAD TO ADJUST THE IDLE SCREW ALMOST ALL THE WAY OUT JUST TO KEEP IT RUNNING?MY TPS IS AT .54 AND THE MAP AT IDLE IN CLOSED LOOP 78-85 KPA WHAT SHOULD IT BE AT IN CL AND IN IDLE?MY BLM IS 108? No need to shout.

The problems you are having with the engine is normal. With the modifications it will be rich at low speeds (idle) and lean at higher speeds. You will first need to reduce the VE at the lower engine speeds. See these two links for information concerning this:

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...threadid=39254

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=200256

The first will explain the VE tables, and the second has a list of links for additional help. They explain the BLM's the VE tables and the basics of tuning them.

RBob.

Somethings not right. A 268 in a 350 shouldn't idle that low on vac.
Did you set the initial timing correctly?
EGR valve isn't stuck open slightly?
All cylinders are firing? feel the headers.
Or it's way rich and should stink you out of the garage.

OOps, just re read your post. XE268. I was thinking HE 268. I would think an XE would idle at 13-14" anyway.
You might want to check out the rough idle posts on DIY Prom.

I would disable closed loop until you get the other stuff sorted out. That's assuming your using a WB o2 sensor for tuning. You also need to raise your park/drive idle speed up in the bin. You might want to try the Super AUJP bin to start with.

RBob, I sent you a PM.

Your right, hes only pulling around 7 or 8 inHg at idle. Something is off. From what I hear the 268 pulls around 13 or 14 inHg or so at idle. Might be just the tuning but a vac leak or ignition problems could be the cause.
