Which ECM should I upgrade to for boost?
Hi,
I currently have a 165ecm which is a MASS system. I am going turbocharged.
Playing on running lots of boost.
Know I see that the 91-92 ecus I beleive 730 are speed denisty systems. Are these good for boost?
Or should I upgrade to the 7?? (the Typhoon ECU)
I mean what is the diffence of the 2 and has anyone had expence with the 2?
Thank you,
Shane

You can stay with the '165 and see how well it works out. The limiting factor will be how far off the AFR is once the MAF starts maxing out on the airflow reading (255 gms/sec).
The '749 (sy/ty) is a SD setup and will first need to have the VE tables tuned up. Stock it will go to 1 bar of boost with a 2 bar MAP sensor.
With a code patch & a 3 bar MAP it will go to 2 bar of boost.

Repin your harness to as used in the Typhoon or Sunbird.
Ran all summer on a stock 749 ECM and SyTy code ($58).
