I'm wondering how you're getting 10.6:1 compression on 10cc dished pistons? Did you have the heads milled?

Flat top pistons in a 383 application will give you around 10.8:1, with a 10 cc dish in the piston you would have around 9.6:1, considering that the vortech head is acutally 62cc, the compression ratio would be around 9.85:1...but if he is using a steel shim head gasket with .015 compressed thickness he would be very close to 10.6:1. Your lift would be .484, hope this all helps.
