Looking for free scanning software!!!

Hello,

I am looking for some free scanner software for use with my HP Laptop running Win2000. I have an AKM Cable. I downloaded Craig motes's software and it won't run with the newer OS I have. I then downloaded WinALDL and it works well but is too slow and not enough information for me. I hope to find a good diagnostic software for my setup. I use the 165 ECM.

Thanx, Tom

How about windows NT? Will that work? Replacing windows 200 with 98 is not an option for this laptop. I can barrow a laptop with NT though.

You can probably use Moates scanner if you start the laptop from a bootable DOS floppy disk. You will not be able to log data to a Win NT/2000/XP hard disk but the scanner should work.

First find a Win95, Win98 or DOS computer.

Open a DOS window and type:

format a: /s

and hit [enter]. This will create a bootable DOS floppy. Then you copy Coates software to the disk.

XP will create a bootable DOS floppy too. If you are really lazy e-mail me and I will send you an image of a bootable floppy.
