LT1 steam pipe question

I'm in the process of putting a 95 LT1 into an 83 Camaro. On the back of the engine is the pipe that connects the two head's and then the pipe looks to connect somewhere in the coolant system. My question is where can I connect that pipe to the coolant system? Does it matter where I connect it to the system as long as it holds pressure? Thanks for any help.

Re: LT1 steam pipe question

Now I'm workin' from memory here,........ but I'm pretty sure that I connected the steam pipe to a 3-way upper radiator coolant hose when I converted to LT1. My conversion was done using a Thirdgen radiator and Thirdgen duel fans. I don't remember what the upper radiator hose was made to fit originally; IIRC it might have been from an LT1 equipped Corvette. ( Please SEARCH to verify this with others to be sure ! )

Re: LT1 steam pipe question

I believe that hose goes to the reservoir bottle. I think I remember LT1 cars 93-97 have an extra nipple for that hose on the overflow bottle..

Re: LT1 steam pipe question

Drawing Tuned posted shows it should go to the radiator.
