a/c Compressor 1986 305TPI IROC Z28
G'day from the Land of OZ,
Seeing the lovely guys in Detroit are closing our beloved Holdens down I have bought myself a Camaro! LOL
However, having problems getting a straight answer out of anyone regards to the a/c compressor.
Mine is marked as a Harrison 532 but is seized. Trying to buy an AC Delco but the supplier in USA seemed very confused at which one is right. (My info is an ACDelco 15-20229)
So if anyone out there has a 1986 IROC Z28 305CI TPI can they tell me if this was the original fitment and if so what is the AC Delco part number replacement. The compressor sits on the left side at the top of the motor, runs a v-belt.
Would appreciate the help.
Oh and BTW, if any of you guys are in Detroit and you see a guy named Devereux walking across the street to the GM building - dont brake!
Not that I am a vindicitive person. LOL LOL

ACDelco Parts
According to the AC Delco search that compressor has 400+ applications.
I'm also looking for one,we both have the same one.
But I agree with you,it is confusing. If you read the applications, you would think that all the apps.would fit

Re: a/c Compressor 1986 305TPI IROC Z28
G'day Mantaguy,
Well at least I know now that what I got was OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) for that Year/Model as the car has been converted to RHD.
As I told the store there the last thing I need to buy is a $300 doorstop.
Also the only place here in OZ selling them are smart they have there own numbering system so you cant cross check and they tack on another $200 to the price as well.
So guys (and gals) if anyone with the knowledge can elighten both of us I would be very gratefull. Heck, play your cards right and I will gift wrap a kangaroo and send it to you. (The hard part isnt the gift wrapping, it is chasing them around the house with the packaging tape!) LOL
And no, I am not pulling your leg, where I am we do acutally have kangaroos in the main street from time to time.
