Classic Industries all metal replacement radiator

Need a new radiator, the original rad has leak on the recovery composite tank side of the radiator.

Anybody tried these steel OE style replacements from classic, how was the fitment?

I like the idea of metal tanks instead of the composite plastic on the original rad.

Are you interested in maintaining an original look? If not, you could have a full aluminum radiator for that price.
I just picked up a plastic/aluminum replacement from Vistapro for my car. It seems to be a good replacement so far, and appears original unless you really scrutinize it.

I got this one a couple of years ago when I upgraded my 305 to 355 and it has been great so.

It bolts right in with no modding needed. There are several stores on eBay selling it, I got my locally from some selling them out of his garage. Highly recommend it, all aluminum no plastic. They raised the price ~$20 since I got mine and I was to pick it up locally and saved the shipping cost.

That is great to know and the price looks good for all aluminum, were you able to use the stock cooling fan and mounting shroud from the original OE rad?

Thanks

Yes, the fans. shroud. and top mounting plate were able to fit perfectly with radiator. It is an exact replica of the stock except it was aluminum and a 3 row core.

Re: Classic Industries all metal replacement radiator

Aluminum dissapates heat better than copper or especially steel. The more rows and bigger (wider) rows helps as well (more area). I called be cool about four years ago and they would custom build me a new rad with two 1 1/4 tubes for not much more than a regular new one. Can you imagine how good two rows of 1 1/4 would cool. Thats 2 and a half inches of cooling area or 25% more.
