Freeze 12 Content
Does anybody know what is in Freeze 12 and if it can be used as a cheap alternative to R12 to inject dye into an R12 or R406a system for troubleshooting a leak?
Thanks...
Thanks...

I use freeze 12 and it is great. It uses the same oil and everything as r12 and the pressures are about the same and it is cost friendly. I highly reccomend it and I am an HVAC contractor Class "A" Arkansas License.

Re: Freeze 12 Content
I like to use R406a but that is getting harder to get.. I have three cans left so just enough to do one charge. My local auto parts store is carrying Freeze 12 now but I have heard that it doesn't carry the mineral oil to the compressor very well and that the low pressure cycle switch needs to be changed to move it down from 24 psig to between 15 and 20 psig...

Mine has done ok but I have heard that. Beats using the other and changing everything. The coils aren't even the right size but it does work.
