I would highly recommend against switching to a smaller radiator. The 3rd gens are prone to inadequate cooling as is, which is why many switch to dual fans, multiple core radiators, or upgrade to aftermarket units. Your cooling ability is directly related to the surface area of your radiator, which means to reduce the overall dimensions of your radiator but not loose cooling ability, you much add cores to regain the effective lost surface area. These added cores will hold more coolant, effectively negating any weight loss. Bear in mind that you only typically gain 1/10 second per 100lbs of weight shaved. Also, the 3rd gen already has fairly obstructed airflow to the radiator, especially if you have a camaro with fog lights or other items blocking airflow. The main cooling is meant to be fed from below via the large air dam mounted below the radiator brace, but this is frequently missing due to owner abuse or age deterioration. You can make up for less airflow with more cooling fans, but again, this would offset any weight savings and now have the added strain on the electrical system, resulting in more parasitical loss from the load on the alternator.
Your best bet would be to either switch to an all aluminum aftermarket radiator such as a Be Cool unit, and look elsewhere for weight savings.
