Single Factory Electric Fan not keeping engine cool w/ac on
Hey everyone.
84 T/A here. I dropped a 355 in it about 2 years ago, upgraded the radiator to a BeCool aluminum radiator but I"m still running the factory single electric fan. The issue is, around town, with the AC on, it's not keeping the engine temps down. Any suggestions/reasons why this may be?
I have an alternate issue where, when the car gets "hot", like sitting in traffic, the fan doens't always like to come on. Otherwise it turns on at 195, off at 175. Using a jet fan switch and Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Heh, I found the factory single fan to be inadequate for local summer temps, even with the AC off (don't have it). Whether I had a weak fan motor I don't know, but a change to properly shrouded dual fans solved all the overheat problems for me.
If the fan(s) not coming on, overheating will follow in very short order.

The intermittant issue is what's driving me nuts. I"m just wondering if you all think i'ts the fan motor or maybe the switch or if there could be something else causing it?

Know of any alternate fan switch part numbers without going thru Jeggs or Summit to get the Jet switch that have the same 200 on 175 off or close. I know there has to be something that I can get from a local auto store without having to wire a fan controller in.

Sorry, I"m using the Jet Fan switch and I like when it turns on/off. Much cooler than the factory switch.
