Cold Air intake
heyy i want to get a cold air intake with a heat shield. Is it worth it or no. I have a 91 firebird 5.0 liter. its got 113k on it.

Well I do not think they actually make one that is direct fit for your car. But getting as much air in and out of your engine is critical in HP and fuel mileage. Engines are giants air pumps. the more air that goes in the more air that can come out. I do not know if the heat wrap really helps make HP numbers but you would like to think that the air will be somewhat cooler. Which is deffinately better for an engine.

As for a heat shield im sure you could make one pretty easily with some thin sheet metal with a hole cut for the piping.

You won't notice anything with the trouble of a cold air intake vs. a standard open element air cleaner - save the time/trouble/money and just do an open element.
