thermostat housing question

thermostat housing question
Two 'sensors' are in/attached to my thermostat housing.
One of them is a coolant temperature sensor. What is the other one?
The engine in my car is pretty tore up...ironically, it runs pretty well. The previous owner shoved a 1989 L03 into a 1986 camaro and stuck a 1976 Q-jet on top.
In the process most sensors were deleted, and i have been unable to identify the sensor, or inlet/outlet, on the thermostat housing...it is more of a curiosity than in inconvience...i think.
Thanks

Re: thermostat housing question
one is prolly the coolant sensor and the other could be the fans sensor maybe. the intake air temp sensor is in the intake or air cleaner.

Thanks for the replies.
The mystery has been resolved. One is the coolant temp sensor and the unknown 'sensor' is a vacuum switch. It appears that the switch was used to control some emissions hardware that no longer exists in my car.
Thanks

Re: thermostat housing question
Weird - I didn't think any of the LO3's had any sensors in the Tstat housing - neither my 1990 or 1992 did.

Yeah...the more I dig into this car, the more mysteries I find.
it is hard to say where that T-stat housing originally came from, but i am guessing that you are correct to assume that it did not come from the L03...VIN on block claims L03, but the carburetor and mechanical fan (yes, mechanical fan) tell me that this engine is a real piece of work.
Good times...
Thanks
