Heat A/C Blower Works on Every Setting Except High, Suggestions?

I can switch it all around but will not work on highest setting. Worked when got car 2 years ago but went to use it this year and no chance only works on lowest 3 settings.

Is it an electrical connection or is my entire heat a/c control bad?

Also is there a better spot on the board to put this?

The issue should be with the resistor in the heater box - as I understand it that controls the high setting - try checking it - there's two screws hold it in the actual heater box on the firewall, has a plug to it, and when you remove it it looks like a coupe curly wires in there.

Re: Heat A/C Blower Works on Every Setting Except High, Suggestions?

Ok got that working. Did so by cleaning this. 1st 2 pics. Now I have 2 other issies to work thru.

My HVAC will not switch between A/C, Max, Bi-Level, Vent, Deforst , Heat. Is it vaccum I know usually when yuo switch this you hear the sucking sound as the baffles move.

Last thing 3rd pic XH-7, does this mean this unit has been changed for R-134 refridge? Let me know what you think.

Defrost is the default. The common culprit is the vac control switch. Stick you ear to it. If you hear the hiss, that's where you should start.

IIRC, when I converted to 134 (I've since returned to 12), the shop put a large sticker on the blower motor indicting the conversion.

My bad James C. I grabbed the service manual and it said to crank the car to test all the functons of the switches.

Dang! Everything works.

A little dumb moment for me. Guess old age is setting in.

Re: Heat A/C Blower Works on Every Setting Except High, Suggestions?

By the way I am taking my A/C lines off tomorrow and getting them redone. The system has no charge anyway so its not like Im losing anything. That way when I get stuff going by the end of the week I will not have any leaks.

Is there any others places I should be leary of and check/change out stuff to head off leaks when I get everything put back together?
