Radiator Fan Switch Relocation

I did a lot of searching but didn't find anything really covering what I want to do. I got my new 350 and there is a plug stuck threaded in the hole in the passengers side head where the radiator fan switch sensor goes. I have done all I can think of to get it out. It has a square hole like the plug in a differential, problem is that it is somewhere between 1/4" and 3/8" drive, so I can't put a ratchet in it to get it out. I have tried sticking square stock into it and turing it with a wrench and only ended up breaking the stock I was using. Its very stuck. I tried heating it up with a torch, but do not want to heat the head TOO much. So I was wondering if there would be any good places I could relocate this sensor to? I found a thread that touched on relocating it to the water pump but they decided it was on the cool side of the cooling system so it will not work. Anyone have any bright ideas? Thanks in advance!

somewhere on the manifold, under the t-stat would work fine.

I don't see any good places to put it in there unless I put a T in where the coolant temp sensor is, you think that would work?

Re: Radiator Fan Switch Relocation

The factory-style fan switches suck anyway - all of them suck, even the aftermarket expensive ones. I went through 4-5 of them, and got tired of fooling with it. Just ditch it. Replace with a seperate fan controller that has a probe that inserts between the radiator fins. I got a nice one, fully adjustable and allows one to rig in-cabin always on/off switches to it, as well as adjust the temp it comes on and goes off. It was a Flex-a-lite 31165, about $100 - and well worth every cent!
