Re: Derale install ????
Never installed one myself since I've never had any problem with the way the fans work from the factory but I don't believe you would need any of the factory stuff as far as fan control goes. You can get rid of the fan switch and relay"s" and wiring if you really wished too. What type of induction are you running on this car? The temp gauge sending unit is unrelated to the fan switch so that will not be effected nor will the sending unit for the ecm as they are both independent of the fan switch. I'm curious, what do you hope to accomplish by doing this?

Re: Derale install ????
I have a Haynes setup with the probe and adjustable thermostat. There is an article on this website how to have the derale thermostat and the factory relay as a backup relay (redundancy).
I originally had it with both hooked up, now I just run it with the Haynes relay running. Its pretty much a standalone setup, just make sure you hook up all the wires to the right places.
If you have a/c you are going to run a trigger wire from the a/c system to trigger the relay to run constantly when the a/c is on. I just ran the signal wire to the switch on the a/c low pressure cycling switch on the accumulator.
I actually bought a terminal strip to connect the factory wires to the Haynes wires for easy connect and disconnect, because I am lazy. I had the relay fail one time and had to take it back and disconnect all the wires.
Good luck, this setup works pretty well.
