LS1 Fan Install HELP
Mine has been a major PITA... LS1 fans into an 88 IROC w/the ATI Procharger.. Problem has been the Procharger belt idler pulley.. the driver side fan motor wanted to sit RIGHT where the pulley was.. w/some cutting and tweaking I have it in... NOW..
What to do you do for the upper fan mount/plastic cover.. I know many use the 3rd gen piece and cut it. How/where do you cut it? Does anybody have pix of a cut piece? I am assuming cut off all the 3rd gen tabs and it will work?
Thanks!!

I just installed the LS1 fans in mine. The upper bracket was the hardest part. But was easy really, i did use a stock thirdgen one. I used one from a TBI car only because i didnt want to cut up my dual fan bracket. So either will work.
Kinda hard to explain how to cut it. I was gonna take pics of mine as i went. But as usual didnt take the time to do it. I used a sawsall and a 3" cut off wheel. You need to cut it across and leave about a 1/4. for it to roll over the fan shroud. and hold it down.
Just take a little off at a time till you get it close. And you want to leave the bracket for the upper hose on for support.
If you really need me too i cant take pics of it.

Finally got it done... Now my driver side fan won't come on? I checked it w/a wire from the battery and it works.. Now looks like I have a whole other issue to deal with? Anybody know when the drivers side fan is supposed to kick on? I tried running the ac but nothing?
