Vents acting funny in my 92 Camaro
I got in the car today and turned on the AC.
It will only blow out the defrost vent by the windshield. So I turned the heat on and had the same issue. After checkign further, no matter waht selection I use for the vents, it only blows out the defrost vent.
Is there a cable that coul have come loose from the controls, or is it something else?

Defrost is the default setting for te ac system when there is no vacuum. It operates on vacuum. Either there is a problem with the vacuum line leading to the unit or there is somthing wrong with the switch itself.

So that brings me to a bad switch... Right?
Are there any vacuum connections under the hood I need to check?

I am assuming the switch in the console.

it is normally almost always a broken vacuum line in the engine compartment.they use a real thin black plastic line that gets brittle and breaks from the heat.Look on the firewall for it going in near the heater controls somewhere,I forget where.Unless you have been messing with something 90+ percent of the time that is what it will be.

I finally had a chance to look under the hood. What I found was a broke rubber hose about 1 inch long...
This is where the hose was...
This is the actual broke hose...
This is the repair...
So far it seems to be working. Also, the rough idle in the car seems to be gone. I will follow up with any issues and such.
THANK YOU!!!!
