Different climate control & my A/C problem

Hi,

I am live in Taiwan, thirdgens are rare here, so I will need your help...

my compressor will jump off when I speed up and do the kick down, especially on the highway and uphill.....it start to work when the tranny go 4th speed or under 3000rpm, is it right??

I saw a guy sell a 86-92 firebird climate control on eBay, the climate control looks very different to ours, it looks like Japan or euro style, GM climate control doesn't friend to use, I can't switch recycle or outside air by bottom....you know what I mean!

It's probably normal. They cycle on and off as a part of normal operation. The higher rpm they are running, the more time they spend off than on.

Does it stay cool inside the car?

The climate control uses outside air for all selections except "max". Max recycles air from in the car.

it will be hot inside if the kick down or uphill take longer action, the most problem is during the uphill.......people said it "should" be normal, I just wanna make sure, because my Grand am doesn't have this problem.

After 2 GM car, I understand how the climate control works, it just doesn't offer many choice like others. BTW, the hot air keep comes out under the dash when the A/C off, feels like the gate is open, it is hot if I don't turn on the A/C, after turn on the A/C, the gate close......???

The AC on the 2.8 V6 Firebird is computer controled, and the computer will turn off the AC compressor during wide open throttle. This is normal. The system should still blow cold air during the few seconds the compressor is off. If its blowing warm air you may need R12. Should still be fairly cheap where you are

If you use the Max AC setting and the compressor shuts off during WOT, you should still get fairly cool air for a minute or so, as it recirculates the cabin air instead of pulling in from outside. Unless there is an issue with your air vent doors.
