replacement radiator with no heater core barb?

i got a replacement radiator with for free (cant beat the price so i took it since mine had a hole) and it hooks up all fine except on the passenger side below the filler neck there is no heater core hose barb to hook up the heater core hose? any ideas of how to get around this? which side of the radiator could i splice this hose into to get coolant into my heater core (pressure or return side)

the heater core to the rad??? Are you getting confused with the transmission cooler lines that splice into a rad??? I personally have never seen a heater core hooked to a rad. They usually hook to the water pump and sometimes the block or intake manifold for the other line. If you hook up to the tranny cooler lines then there will be no circulation of coolant as the tranny cooler in the rad is separated from the rad itself.

wow, intereting, ya learn something new everyday That's odd that they would do that only on the camaros?? After doing rad work on a few mid to late 80'd Firebirds I have never come across that.

I don't know how correct that is, I have a 85 and 86 and just recently stripped a 91 and have never seen the heater core hose hooked to the radiator.

Dave,
I think ya might be right about it being only on V8's cuz now that I think of it all the ones I worked on for rad stuff were V6's.

I have an 85, and there is NO hose that goes from the rad to the heater core. I had to block off that hole.
