3 or 4 row copper rads VS. alum.
Has anybody ever gone to a 3 or 4 row copper type rad and it not do the job, and end up going with an aluminum radiator?
Just curious if I should go straight to the aluminum--am I wasting time with the 3/4 row copper. My 89 IROC has MANY performance mods and I have gone through the cooling system. 180* stat, factory type dual fans wired direct, both new fan motors, rad (2 row ) is clean and flows like it should, but still heats up WAY too hot when A/C is on and driven during the day (especially if I am running it hard!). Oh Yeah, I live in HOT + HUMID Houston, Texas!
I just don't want to go to all the troulbe of trying a bigger, better fan, and that not do the job, and/or go to a 3/4 row copper rad and don't have it do the job either! If U have gone through similar or have installed an alum rad, PLEASE let me hear from U and your experiances! What kind/brand of aluminum radiator did U end up with, did it fit right, and does it do the job cooling like it should?

Depends on what kind of setup you have. If you have an aluminum intake, it would not be a good idea to mix metals by putting a copper one in. Someone did that to my car and put a copper one in. I got an aluminum Modine rad for about $130. It fits perfectly and works great.
