AC out ? add power?
if you take out the AC in your third gen can it increase the amount of power or horsepower that you may have after taking out the belt and everything. just wondering because its been wandering in my head as thought.

Taking the a/c out will reduce weight since you could remove the condenser, evaporator, compressor, lines, accumulator, etc. It won't increase engine power...

i took my a/c off my car, it gave me a whole lot of room, and took some weight off.
i just bought an a/c delete pulley because i have a serpentine setup.
it sounds like u have a v-belt system if so u can just take off the v-belt and compressor and the rest of the a/c stuff.

The A/C is pretty benign unless the compressor is operating. Translated it means shut it off during a run. It is nice to have room in the engine compartment though.

Every belt and every pulley takes power from your engine. One belt=5hp, or so. The difference is negligible, but if you can live without your a/c, then every bit helps. Some people even go as far as installing an electric water-pump to save hp.
