Evans auto cooling?
Has anybody used that Evans Waterless coolant? What do you think? Is it worth the money? Can you add water if you have to, like if your driving down the road and you spring a leak? Thinking about flushing the entire cooling system and replacing with this Evans stuff.
Thanks for any info.

I tried it back when they were sending it for free to people to test it out. Used it for about 10k miles in a 383 powered Malibu I had.
Don't know what they are asking for it, but if it's much more than good antifreeze, I wouldn't buy it. Nothing bad to say about it, just as good as antifreeze for more money.....
Just my opinion

Thanks for your opinion! Any help is appreciated. I heard that it costs like a $100 for a complete cooling system change over. Just thought i'd ask people's opinions before I shell that kind of money. Anybody else?

See if you can find a some info on GM high tech performace's web site, They did a test on it and it did very well compared to just antifreeze. I don't remember much from the artical other than it was a good investment.

I just read that article in GM High Tech Performance's January 2002 issue page 20. It was a very in depth article which included information on the entire Evan's cooling system components.
First off they say, "don't compare this waterless coolant to regular Ethylene Glycol Water mix" because the two liquids are very different.
1) Boiling Point: Standard mix-224*, Evan's 375*.
2) Cooling system Pressure: Standard mix-16lbs, Evan's 4-7lbs.
3) Thermostat: Standard mix-Yes, Evan's does not use a thermostat so the bypass line to the waterpump is plugged.
4) Waterpump: Standard mix-Factory, Evan's uses an 8 vane impeller with an airbleed to eliminate cavitation upon startup.
5) Radiator: Both systems could use the Factory Radiator or Evan's has a two row 1.25" tubing all aluminum radiator part# 6582AE-BXX.
6) Cost: Standard mix-$4.99 a gallon, Evan's $22.50 a gallon (you'll need 4 gallons to fill and entire system) but, lasts 200,000 miles or 10 years. Also, Evan's can not be mixed with water.
These are just the highlights of the article. Gm High Tech Performance says, "this will result in at least another 10 HP increase". You'll have to read the whole article to get a better understanding of how the system works vs. a traditional 50/50 mix.
