Pictures of my Stewart WaterPump install.
Here's some pictures of the Stewart Stage 1 cast iron water pump # 13123 along with some stock photos for comparison. It was sent with this finish and I sprayed several coats of clear on it for protection.

Here is the main difference in the performance of the Stewart pump. There are two ball bearing races on the pumps shaft Also, the impeller is a special design that increases water flow.

After the install I started the car and let it idle for about ten minutes while I was checking for leaks and I was very surprised when I looked at the tempurature gauge and it never moved past the first notch and the tempurature in the garage was about 95*. I took a thermometer and checked the water in the radiator and it was only 160*. With the stock pump with these same conditions the temp gauge would read at least 190 and climbing. Also, see my post on my "Perma Cool" fan install.

I just bought mine and tracked the order (delivery on Fri). They had to build me one cuz it wasnt in stock I got the stage II pump polished aluminum. They dont make chrome ones but the polished aluminum should look great. Cost $265. Ill post a pic when I get it. Everyone who has them says they are the best.

hey GKK, I know you posted this along time ago but I just saw the pictures of your install...it looks nice. I just finished mine with a Jeg's high flow pump and I needed to know if that metal opening on the top is supposed to go somewhere or left open. On the stock mine wasn't connected so I wasn't planning on attaching it to anything but when the car was started and shut off I took off the radiator cap and some coolant shot out of that pipe. Thought you might know what was going on, thanks again for the help earlier.

That opening on the top of the waterpump was for the heater core return hose like on a lot of the old SBC setups. Our setup has that hose going into the top of the radiator just below the radiator cap. You have to plug that hole with a pipe thread plug from the hardware store.
