aftermarket fan switches.......
If i get a hypertech 180* fan switch or something, all that will do is lower the turn on temp for the drivers side fan right? Does anyone sell a switch to lower the turnon temp for the passenger side fan? I was thinking of just putting a stock 220* driver side switch in on the passenger side and then a 180 on the driver side. The only problem is the wire going to the switch on the passenger side is different then the driver side. Is there anywhere i can get this style connector to splice onto the old wire? Thanks for the help.

Driver side fan is controlled by programming in the ECM. The AUX fan switch is located at the passenger side of the block. The one you refer to at the driver side is most likely the guage sender. It has a single green wire. Depending on the ECM wiring, putting a lower AUX switch you may well turn on both fans. My 89 IROC did that. There is a wire back to the ECM from the AUX switch on mine and when the AUX fan started so did the primary. I think it probably defaults that way. I did not like it because of the increased load on the alternator and battery. 180 is too low for the AUX, the fans will constantly run in any kind of traffic. Napa stocks two different ones for TG's. One at the stock 238 and one I think about 210-215. Might be a better choice. Cost $19.

Don,t know the NAPA numbers. Go to a well socked NAPA dealer and they list 2 different ones in thier catalogue. The JET # is J20-60600 but it will cost 50 bucks. Wish I had the #'s but hey, lets put the parts guy to work. My local NAPA dealer is real helpful. LOL
