A/C compressor cycles on/off at 3sec intervals: Recharge??
When I put the AC on, the compressor cycles on/off every 3 sec or so (sounds like a really slow clock- tick 1-2-3 tick...).
Does this mean I need a recharge?
I'm also assuming that a '91 has Freon AC. How much does it normally cost to have it converted and charged with 134, and where should I go (or is this something I can legally do myself)?
Or is it most likely not a recharge-issue...

More than likely you are just a little low on freon. If you know someone that has R12 still, you could just have them add a little bit. The last conversion kit I saw was around 40 bucks and included the 134a freon and oil. Sure am glad I bought a 30 pound bottle of R12 before the price got high.
