New Owner - 1991 Z28 Convertible
Hello All,
After many years of looking I finally purchased my childhood dream car this past summer. It is a red 1991 Z28 Convertible in bright red with grey interior.
While I was frequent on the thirdgen boards even prior to purchasing, I realized I purchased a vehicle that was once owned by a member here "69 Six Pack" who also happened to live in my hometown in Ontario. I do remember seeing his original for sale ad which at the time I could not afford.
The original ad from 2-3 years ago is here:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/cama...91-z-28-a.html
Since his original ad, it seems the next owner (who I purchased from) let the car sit for a long time and was planning to do an LS swap - never got around to it, and his wife made him sell it.
Which now makes me the 6th owner. The vehicle now has 85,600KM since the original posting however I wonder if the car has more. I did notice the odometer lock up once on a drive this summer - I hit the mileage reset button and it went back to normal - not sure if this was a one off fluke, or if there is some sort of reset button jam trick that has been exploited in the past. Regardless the car runs beautifully.
Beyond this the original exhaust noted in the original ad finally let go this summer and cracked at the muffler inlet. I have since replaced with a cat-back system with a magnaflow muffler. Beyond this, the car remains generally stock asides from the aftermarket stereo.
Future mods include finding chrome IROC replica wheels (17" or 18").
Few pictures attached.
Looking forward to being part of the community for years to come!

I have decided to let my Z/28 Convertible go. Nice original car that was sold new at Gananoque Motors Sept/1991. Always a Canadian car. According to the door sticker it was a June/1991 build. I am the 4th owner and I bought it from a lady's estate. She had it for 17 years. Looks to have always been dealer maintained and been in great shape. Breezed through our Provincial Safety Check earlier this year. Everything on the car works. New injectors in 2014, also had a recent convertible top and plastic rear window. I put on some new Hankooks 245/50/16's, prop rods, front signal lenses, new NGK spark plugs, air filters, new Emblems from Hawks, NOS front grille (I have the original with the license plate bracket but it looks so much better without. Both will go with the car). Only mod I can think of is the Sony CD stereo that was installed June/1995. If I was to keep the car I would look for a original radio. It has a clean Car Proof and last passed Provincial Emissions test in June/2014.
I took the jack out of the car I believe for the first time. I had to raise the car to slide my floor jack under it. The spare tire looks brand new and still has the inflating canister intact.
Car is very rust free, underneath is very clean and still retains its original exhaust system. How many 3rd Gens can say that?
Interior is in very nice shape.
Paint has had some touch-ups in the past and has a few chips.
Best way to describe it would be a nice original driver/cruise night car.
Car is licensed, insured and presently being driven.
305 TPI and automatic
83,000 kms or 51,500 miles

@vinny R - Yes that is my cousins 91 vert across the street. White on red. His looks sharp - C6 vette wheels and performance suspension. Sits a bit lower than stock but nothing too crazy. Pic attached.
