Hey All
I had my Trans Am repainted and there used to be a raised piece of clear plastic(?) around the back of the body where the top latched to the body. It was a clear coating of some type of plastic that went around where the weatherstripping touches the body to improve the seal of the convertible top.
The body shop that did my car did not put this on. It was a $3300.00 paint job but this part of the refinishing was not done.
Where can i get this replacement piece of plastic to resolve this issue?
Is this something my car should have on it? Should the body shop have also put this on for me? I didn't realize that it wasn't done until I needed to put the top down.
Any help or any advice would be appreciated.
I do not know what this part is or where to locate one to purchase.
I tried searching for it on the site but had no luck, when you dont know the name of something it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack!!
Thanks in advance
Michael
Thanks

Re: 91 Trans Am Convertible paint job question
I did see some talking of it somewhere here. Its on the Tonneau Cover, perhaps the vert manufacturer "ASC" or something like that may sell the tape or coating that goes there. ??

If you do a search for "vinyl wear sticker" in this forum (convertibles) you will find what you are looking for.

I haven't heard from him in a while, I hope he is doing well. There are others in the thread also discussing selling them.
