Convertible latch relay???
Does anybody know where the relay is to the switch that released the convertable top on a thirdgen TransAm. I can hear it click somewhere under the dash, but the latch isn't being activated. Thanks.

The relay on my 90 Camaro is mounted down by the emergency brake handle. Same location as the hatch release relay on coupes. It may be something as simple as the ground wire that runs to the neutral safety switch (in auto's) or to the emergency brake (in 5 speeds). As I recall it is black with a white stripe. The car must be in park or neutral (auto) or emergency brake engaged (5 sp) or engine off for the tonneau release to work. This is to prevent you from accidently popping it while driving. Good luck, Lon.

Latch Problem Resolution
This is an old topic that I came across while looking for something else.
I had a problem similar to what you are experiencing. I could hear the relay engage but I the Toneau hatch would not release. Turns out there is a safety device built into the circuit that will prevent you from poping the hatch while the Trunk is open...
In my case there was a connector loose in the trunk. The wire plugs into the bottom of the trunk closer a bit toward the drivers side. If you remove the plastic cover from the back of the trunk and look at the trunk latch you will probably see the wire I am talking about. I re-connected mine and have been using the electric release ever since. -- N I C E ! --
You have probably solved this problem by now but I thought this bit of info might be helpful to someone...
