So what's one worth that needs work? Not a basket case but not a prom queen either.

Considering the rarity, I would try to get it...

We really need to see pictures to really give you a good quote. Different area's have different standards... Like any car with rust to me is pretty much a parts car, while other area's where rust is common it would a great project.

Rule of thumb is a convertible is worth typically 1.5x - 2.0x the value of a comparable hard Top.

I think my Formula 350 vert is the most fun car I own.

Get me the last 5 of the VIN and I will get you the sequence number...

Keep in mind:
There was
42 Formula 350 convertibles
142 GTA or Trans Am 350 Convertibles
2 TTA convertibles

There was a total of 330 1989 Firebird convertibles Of those there are 15 that I cannot decipher, and 5 that are not listed.
