I currently have a Black top. Replacing soon. I found one place that offers a lot more colors of Stayfast.(1A Auto)

So now I'm considering going with Charcoal or even Gray. It would match the interior more I think and would look good with the future Pearl white paint.

Anyone go with a non factory color on their top? anyone got some pics of a white camaro with a grey or charcoal top? Maybe some photoshop skills?

I was thinking of custom order a red top for my white Z28 but I guess it would be a lot more expensive than the regular oem colors...Didn't called any company yet as this is project will be the final touch since my top is new

 

1A Has a "Burgundy" stayfast option. no Upcharge.

I think I'm going to go with Charcoal when I order mine from them. Should go nicely with my interior.

 

A few years ago I was in the market for another "fun" car. I ended up getting an LS1 Trans Am, but drove a very nice third gen convert. It was a camaro that was polo green with a tan top. Beautiful combo IMO. I say change it!

 

A white car with a white top would be awesome. Of course keeping white clean would be a chore but I would scotchguard it as soon as I took it out of the box. A neighbor had a white 92 corvette with a white top and white interior and that car was spectaculor.

 

i have had a few convertibles in my time . several different colors , white or a light color i feel is best . i wish i had 3rd gen vert. , i do not so my comments are just my thoughts . good luck .

 

are the 1A auto convertible tops are as good as the topsonline??? White top is very nice no doubt aboiut it! But white top will turned yellowish within years...My friend's father has a 92 red mustang with a white top (vinyl I think), car has only 40 000miles always garage and the top had to be changed because it turned a bit yellow!

I have seen burgandy, tan, black and light beige but never a white or bright red such as some Vettes and Mercedes...

 

I dont see how a stayfast top is going to yellow... Not sure why anyone would do a vinyl top on these cars when the OEM stayfast isnt that much more.

Keeping it clean would be my concern.

 

This is a good topic. Are there any pics from anyone?? I kind of wonder how a gray top would look on a black IROC. I think a lighter color would last longer when exposed to sunlight. I know my black top seems to have faded a little bit.

 

If you were going to add the heritage stripes to a car; say a purple haze 92 vert with silver stripes gray interior and a grayish-silverish top would be different. A green car with gold stripes, interior and top would look good. I think an all white car; car-interior-top combo would be very striking or a white car with black heritage stripes and top would match very well. An all red car (bright orangy-red) would be bold. Blue and gold like the blue angels always looked good. The medium gray and black combo like eleanor in gone in 60 seconds looks good. A black car with dark gray heritage stripes with a silver 1/4 border stripe instead of the usual same color border stripe and either silver or dark gray top would be three different hues of gray. I need a paint booth.

 

I just checked and there is a difference in price between 1A and Tops Online for the stayfast, $414 at 1A and $349 at Tops Online. Now that is for black at Tops Online but 1A has the colors.

Has anyone considered the glass window? I had one guy who noted that the size of the glass window was very small? Anyone run into this?
