Just a little trick for you guys that HATE not having a "dome light"
Having no "dome light" was driving me nuts so I installed a flexible LED strip under the dash (in the channel so you don't see it) Its an idea anybody is welcome to steal the idea (I've copied other peoples ideas so whats fare is fare)
And for the Firebird guys My cell phone charger port (I hate leaving the ashtray door open)

Re: Just a little trick for you guys that HATE not having a "dome light"
I bought up some rear view mirrors on Ebay that have the "map lights" on the bottom side and swapped one into my 87 'vert. That no dome light thing was kinda spooky on dark nights and my black car. Looks original (came off a 3rd gen anyway), wires up easy and now no more dark car. Just fyi.

Yeah it can be done (mine didn't have any when I got her) BUT finding a CLEAN set are hard most people brake off the mounting tabs and you will have to make holes in the panel for the tabs to go through.......... if you think my "mods" are a little out there wait to you see my sewer pipe cold air intake I'm making right now

Good ideas, too bad the lights in the mirror are not connected to the doors as interior lights.

Re: Just a little trick for you guys that HATE not having a "dome light"
Hey, they DO connect to the door lights, nobody asked, so I assumed everyone knew to look under the convertible top plastic header panel. My wiring was there, just had to patch it in and put the panel back on. ASC cars were t-tops and they just chopped the wires and stuck them under that panel. I think there was a orange and a white wire, the third wire on the mirror is for any ground so that you can turn those map lights on while the doors are closed. It was a very easy mod for me. If you need more info, let me know.

you might also put a strip of those on one of the inside top bows. So it will be right above you. I have a convert with a dome light on the 4th bow, but I don't have the pictures.
