i need to fix my convertable top back window HELP!!!
I have a 1991 Trans am convertible that my ld backwindow fell out of,
I bought a new window anf its more then tall enough but its not wide enough
now then i stang the window up and down it has enough to do both sides if i cut it in half but there will be a "slice" in the center on the window if i do it that way... im am OOUT of money at this point for this car... is there anyway to mend, melt or mold these two halfs together? or does anyone have a window in good condtion they would trade me for this one that i have???
I need one badly.. i have heard of vynal welding but dont know if it applys here....
could i maybe silicone them together? or just melt them together with a lighter and smooth it out?
i dont care if it fogs it out... i just need a wather proof seal so i can leave my car outside without a tarp over the a** end of my top...
heres a few pics of my top if itll help PM me if you have anything or just reply here... thanks!

I dont think there is a quick fix for this without it being a temporary solution and it looking rather crude.
I had the same problem and unfortunately had to purchase a new convertible top and have it installed.

Honestly without the right size window back in place i dont see it plausible to create a weather proof seal. Been there, done that... Now I wait for tax check to get a new roof. With glass!

Re: i need to fix my convertable top back window HELP!!!
it was a tpi car when i bought it but the car wouldnt idle right and come to find out he ecm was fried, i couldnt find another ecm without ordering one from gm for 600$ and having them prgram it for another 250$
so i found a TBI setup at a junkyard for 150$ just for the **** under the hood, and i just grabbed the ecm and took it as they wouldnt sell it to me because if it were bad they wouldnt give me my money back (stupid i know)
and when i got the car it had these ugly rims with holes drilled in them and i had the rims left over from my last firebird so i bolted those on there,
as for the hood it had dents in it from what looked like someone hitting it with a hammer,
so i changed it out for a formula hood,
i need a TPI setup again it just doesnt feel right without my TPI anymore..
i mean it runs great but i can tell theres not as much power,
i also have a flat base firebird hood forsale, a buddy of mine had it on his car before he traded me for my trans am vented hood, he knows body work with bondo and stuff so he fixed it for his car, ill trade it for some bolt on performance parts, or something else,
also the rims on the car i have 5 of and those are for trade only, i need another set of wheels im looking for black GTA's or some 4th gen chrome wheels, all of my tires are in good shape 50% to 75% tread
let me know

My bird was originally teal but the guy I bought it off of painted it dark green metallic and it looks SH*T! So this winter I'm painting it Bright blue metallic.

Re: i need to fix my convertable top back window HELP!!!
I have a used top you can have for $50+shipping. It's black and came off a 92 so it should fit. I show my car and the top had a few minor scratches on the rear plastic and on the drivers side about an inch of the edge piping wore off....in short it would not fly for a judged car show, but looks and works fine. This top is about 4 years old.

Re: i need to fix my convertable top back window HELP!!!
Had a similar issue with my vert a couple of years ago. My top was in good shape, but the rear window was damaged. Took it to a local car upholstery shop and they replaced the window for $250. Lots cheaper than a new top.
