What do you guys think my vert is worth on the market?
Check out my profile for some more pics. Thinking about selling it. Not sure if this year or next spring. Thinking about buying a 2011 Camaro vert next year.
It is all original besides tires, flowmaster exhaust, and a alarm
305 TPI and 700 r4 auto tranny all original.
40,000 original miles. Runs that way to. Not a leak.
Everything is there and works the way it should. All top parts, switches to the top are present and working.
Has a new distributor cap, plugs, wires. Transmission and coolant fluids recently flused. New battery and starter.
No rust!
New refurbished wheels and Firestone Firehawk Wideovals.
Paint is a 7-8/10.
Leather interior. Drivers side a little warn. No tears. Carpet good, not torn, some faiding.
The RPO codes are there and it all matches up along w/carfax. Perfect title.
Thinking about asking $11,500. Not sure if that is too much or not.
Thought about posting this in the for sale section, but I am really looking for some idea as to what you guys think it is worth...
Any thoughts

It's a very nice example and I would call it collector quality. I'm not sure you'd get 5 figures for it but you should darn well try. You know, there might be a person who out there who would pay that!
I'm pulling for you!! Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. That in itself is the problem. You look at collectors guides and they give you certain price points, but what they are going for on the market varies. I guess it all depends on the individual and what value they see in the car. The nice thing is they won't depreciate.
I have been watching prices on ebay and craigslist for the past few months and it is amazing how much some people think a car in poor condition is worth. Plus you see a lot of IROC's that appear to be RS's, etc... Sometimes you don't know what you are getting. That is one thing that makes me feel good about this car.

Very nice ride and if you want top $$$ for it, I wouldn't go by our guesses as to it's value. I would seriously consider getting it appraised. Ask some local car clubs and collectors who they would recommend. You want a good appraiser with a certifiable and recognised reputation.
This will give you three major advantages . . .
- an idea as to it's replacement & more accurate market value.
- more than just your word that the car is worth top $$$.
- and critical information you and/or the future owner can use to obtain a far more accurate insurance coverage replacement value should anything ever happen. The book value on these nice rides never covers enough. The future owner should appreciate the added documentation and this should also help garner a higher asking price.
Of coarse appraised value is rarely ever asking value, but it will greatly help justify a well deserved higher asking price. Easily worth the ~$100 on a nice looking ride like yours. Good luck.

I have given it some thought and decided to keep it unless someone blew me away with a top $ offer. I think the 3rd gen verts are some of the best looking cars ever made.

, if you have the space and dont need the money hold on to it, your car is gorgeous in a year or two is going to be even harder to fine a car as clean as yours. and if you still want to sell then you will have no problem getting what ever you want.

I say keep it too and still buy the 2011 vert. Imagine how special that will be. I plan to buy the 2012 Camaro.

You mean I read this entire thread and never heard a price? JK, I love my vert, just wish it was easier to find parts. I have duplicates on many things 91, but little duplicates on true vert parts. So as long as I never crash I should be good.

Re: What do you guys think my vert is worth on the market?
I would put money on the next gen Camaro has 3rd gen influences. The project that was on the Hot Rod cover a couple of months ago looked outstanding. Funny how the sharp lip at the wheels is so popular now. Look at your 3rd gen, yep it is there, started back in 84 with GM design. It is actually funny how many people come up to me and my wife while we park our cars, they all same the same thing. I remember when those were new, I wanted one so bad, then comes the "you dont see many around in that shape, would love to have another". The same comments most 1st owners hear. The difference is that not enough 3rd gens have been scrapped yet. It will take another 10 years but these cars will be sought after like the 1st gens. They have a classic design that was copied by alot of other manufactures. How many wheels designs are base off of the 5 spoke IROC design? Then throw in the crisp edge around the wheels, flared ground effects etc.
A long ignored classic American design that millions loved. GM just made to many of them.

And btw 67, your vert is beautiful. I'd keep it if I were you.

Re: What do you guys think my vert is worth on the market?
The interesting thing about the convertibles is if you look at the number of 1st generation convertibles 67-69 and compare them to the 3rd generation 87-92. There were far less 3rd generation convertibles made. There were also fewer 3rd gen convertibles as compared to 4th generation. I don't think people really treated the 3rd generation Camaro's so nicely. So many of them were ran into the ground. I rarely see them on the street.
