Wing / spoiler ? what to do?
My plan was to put my 92Z wing back on my 92 vert.
Then was looking at pic's and wondered how a hawks 5inch would look. with the sides molded to the vert caps..

Re: Wing / spoiler ? what to do?
I think I honestly like the stock convertible spoiler better than both of those, on a convertible.

I'd like to see the 5" spoiler done.
Be a nice alternative, without deviating too far from the stock lines.

I agree, if done right the 5" can look good.

Re: Wing / spoiler ? what to do?
Personally, I'd like to see someone take the stock vert spoiler and maybe make it about an inch or so higher as it transitions to the rear of the car. I like the look of the stocker, but always thought it was a little short.
BTW, TPI383 I noticed in your sig the T56 crossmember. What was the reason you used that piece? Just curious.

Im still not sure what I'll do spoiler wise yet. Im thinking a hawks 5inch with the sides cut / modded to work / molded into the stock caps.

Re: Wing / spoiler ? what to do?
i would go for the 5" spoiler myself. Never seen one before, and i think it would look sick. I've seen the Z28 spoiler on a bunch of convertibles, and have never liked the look.
ps. My vert will be here tomorrow or friday!!! $450 for shipping. Cant wait. and i snagged a 1SS !!.
back to the subject. Do the 5"

Re: Wing / spoiler ? what to do?
Another spoiler you might want to consider is the one-year-only 1988 "Camaro" spoiler? It's like the '91/'92 hi-rise Z28 spoiler, but it's low-rise, and it fits competely on the deck lid, doesn't hangover the quarter like the hi-rise spoiler does. So it would be a better fit and give you a similar (or even better) look, but more streamlined, not as high.
But since you'll doing all the bodywork to clean-up the cuts and eliminate the trim so you can install a different spoiler of your choice, then I think no spoiler would look good.

Re: Wing / spoiler ? what to do?
I haven't seen the 5" spoiler on a convertible, but I think that they look way too big on the Camaros that I have seen them on.
Are there any problems with removing the side caps. I am thinking about removing my stock RS rear spoiler and the side caps. Just trying to make sure that I'm not going to mess anything up with the rear deck, under the side caps, or with the convertible top. Thanks.

Re: Wing / spoiler ? what to do?
When the roof was cut off of the convertibles no real care was taken to mold the fenders back into the decklid/etc. It's just a rough cut so you'd have to clean up the whole top of the fender.

Re: Wing / spoiler ? what to do?
The 5" is sharp on T's and hard tops but it just doesn't flow with the design of the convertible...
On the other hand it is something different...

Re: Wing / spoiler ? what to do?
im not real high on the higher spoilers but what i did, er am in the process of doing is taking the stock wing off of an 84 camaro and have already put it on the trunk. it looks good and lines up great. now i just need to finish up fillin in the holes the douche made when he screwed in the old spoiler to the trunklid cause the original brackets broke off the spoiler.
