New guy here! For Z-man 92 if your out there!
Hey all, I just wanted to create an account on here to hopefully get some pictures to a awesome guy I met at Auto Fair. We put our convertible Z's together for a photo but then his camera battery was dead so he didn't get any. I got some, and now hopefully he will be able to get them off of here. His forum name is Z-man92, so heres a shout out for ya, and can't wait till next autofair.

Awesome pictures. His car has pretty low mileage, looks like yours is the same way based off the looks of it. Both are very nice cars... I'd like to get another '91 Z convertible sometime just to say I have two of them

Hey BlueZ, I think i've actually talked with you before too, many years ago. I think your on my Myspace. Can't remeber how we got to talking but I think I saw your car and messaged you about how sweet it was. Mines sitting at about 62,000 miles, bought it with 42,000 in Febuary of 2003.

Cars look sharp. My old 91 Z convertible came by for a visit this past Sunday while I was working on my 92 Z hugger project.

Ya I was thinking the same thing. I remember seeing a picture of your car back before I bought my ZR1's and based my desicion to buy some from seeing your car. Mine had 32,xxx when I got it when I was 16. I'm 22 now and it sits with 103,xxx but the 305 and auto are long gone.

I remeber talking to you about the wheels now. You were wondering about the spacers to fit a 9.5 inch rim cause we went with Zr-1's instead of SS. Your car has definitly come a long way. Light years beyond mine. I havn't done anything at all to mine, just sits in the garage and collects dust. Btw did you ever run your car at the track with the 305 in it? Don't know anyone else with convertible third gens that have run them.

Yep that was me, you helped me figure out what needed to be done to run my wheels. Now it's got an LS1 10 bolt with rear discs so I ditched the rear spacers. Still have them on the front though.
I did run it at the track. It was a consistent 15.3-15.5 car with street tires and a sloppy 60ft. I never got the chance to use some drag radials to see how well it would do without peeling out thru 1st gear. Trap speed was like 89mph or something like that.
Now I'm shooting for 11.xx @ ?mph.

Glad I could help!I was looking through all the comvertible pics and read a post were you said you had a power trunk release, how the heck is that? I thought they couldn't do it on convertibles.

Yep, mine has the power release motor. I guess it was kind of a hit or miss option in the convertibles, some have it some don't. I love mine, only had to replace it once. I have a low mileage spare somewhere around here just in case mine poops out on me.

Oh perhaps I was being misunderstood, it doesn't have a switch to release the trunk, but the trunk has the power pull down/release motor on it. I have to get out of the car and put the key in the hole to release the trunk, but it has the motor on the latch. Sorry for the confusion.

ahh see, I was confused by power trunk release. I thought it would be pretty sweet to be able to hit a button and pop the trunk like those lazy hatchback guys . They definitly improved the design on the 92 though casue on ours we have to hunch down and reach back in to hit the button after we lift the back of the top up. But since the switch is moved it leaves a void between the window switches. I wonder if anyone has ever wired up a trunk switch on the 92's and put te button between the window ones.

I'm not sure if its an option thing or a year thing. Seems like all te 91's have it that I know of, but the only 92 i have ever seen didn't. Hopefully someone else on here can clarify for us.
