91 firebird vert
Hey guys, I figured this would be the place to ask a question about how much a convertible is worth. I am looking at a 1991 firebird convertible. It is blue with a gray cloth interior, looks pretty plain jane, no fancy options. It has corvette wheels on it..but I dont care about that, I'd rather have stock wheels on it. It also could need a paint job, but could be left alone too.. Top looks to be in good shape but I have not seen the car in person yet. I dont know the mileage yet either.. but from what I have stated so far what do you guys think its worth?

Re: 91 firebird vert
depends really. a base firebird vert will not hold the value or be worth as much as a Trans Am, GTA, or Z28 vert of the same year. If it's a 6 cyl, that's a no-no in my book, if it's at least a 305 TBI, then that's workable, if it's a 305 TPI, worth it, if it's a 350 TPI (very rare), then GRAB IT!!! Overall, if the vert specific parts are present and in good shape, then that price for a vert is pretty good. Without pics, it's hard to judge condition at least somewhat though, if you have pics then put them up!
On the vert only parts, you can get the top and windshield weatherstripping new but it's a little pricey, the "B" pillar seat belt caps are available for $75/pair from Hawk's (i have them, they are nice), and Hawk's now has the windshield header trim available new but it's over $100, they hope to have the #1 bow trim available for about the same price later this year. They also have the little seals that go on the body by the top of the doors. They used to have new rear interior panels you had to carpet yourself, dunno if they still do. So some of the vert parts are becoming available now, but they cost a good amount of $$$ so best to get as many of them as possible on the car in good shape.

Re: 91 firebird vert
Thanks for the info. It was a V6, and had some rust on it, AND wouldnt budge on the price at the time. I waited a week and it was gone. I would have bought it to have, but it wasnt really what I would want in a vert anyways.
