Need Help - Converitble tonneau release will not work
I parked my convertible for the winter and the release switch on the center console worked fine. Now it does not work. Is there anyway to get the tonneau to release manually? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

it can be manually released - i have never had to and don't recall the exact procedure, but use the search too at top bar and you should be able to find prior posts with this info

There are wire cables w/ loops on the end on each side to release the tonneau, fold you back seat down and look in the area where the side panels meet the seats.
I remember seeing them when I was replacing my rear shocks last time, although I have never used them.

Make sure the tonneau top is all the way down. I have problems with mine not latching down far enough. I would ear clicking but it would not release. I have to put a little pressure down on the left side of the top when I push the switch and then it opens.

Now for getting it to work as it is supposed to. Does your hatch pull-down motor work or has someone messed with it and converted it to a slam latch? The pull-down unit must work corectly for the tonneau switch to function. The striker-sensing switch of the pull-down motor is tied in as a safety to the tonneau release. On an automatic car the neutral-safety switch is also used as a safety to prevent you from opping it accidently while driving. Try pulling up on the parking brake a couple of clicks and see if it will pop.

Thank you my friend. I pulled the back cover off inside my trunk to run some sub woofer wiring and found that the striker harness was un plugged. I must have done that when replacing a rear tail light bulb over the winter. I also pulled up on my e-brake handle to activate the e-brakes since I re-shoed my rear brakes and "Bam" my rear hatch release now works.
I really appreciate the help.
