photoshoot with Scoobydoo's T/A, my Z, and my fiance's IROC

Scoobydoo just got his '91 T/A vert back from a brand spankin' new paint job and man is it sharp! Our local fbody club had a cruise today that consisted of nearly 70 cars total. And of those 70 cars, only 6 were thirdgens.

On our way home from the cruise, I managed to snag Jeff (scoobydoo) and take a few photos with our cars and my fiance's '87 IROC-Z, but the other 3rd genners were already gone by this time. So all we got were these three cars.

I'll have a photobucket link here soon probably tomorrow with pics of the rest of the cars, we had a great turn out, considering it was all local cars. We had a handful of Corvettes, a '67 Camaro SS, a '69 Z28, a '99 Firehawk 6spd convertible, a '97 SS, a '96 SS, and a crap ton of more 4th gens. Oh and one sweet Grand National with a nice flame paint job. So if you would like to see the other pics I can post the photobucket link when I'm done loading all the pictures from my camera.

For the time being, enjoy.

BlueZee28-
Do you know the name of the color of red on the IROC in the first pic? I've seen a couple paint samples that are close but I want to know what it's going to look like on my car before I start, and that pic is a great color.

Thanks

I do know the color on the IROC, because I painted it.

It's called Light Toreador Metallic, and it is a Ford color, found on the new Mustangs and Explorers, as well as a few other models I believe.

Sick pictures Jeff!

Krista hates the close up of her driving her car because she thinks it makes her neck look huge, even though you're really seeing her friends neck blending in with hers. Girls.

It's easy. Get a hot chick that isn't into 3rd gens, and convince her that she desperately needs to have one of her own. She used to drive a Ford Focus...

HAHA I actually was like that girls neck is kinda large for her head.. that explains it.. you're a luck guy.. my girl drives a 98 toyota avalon bumper car that she runs into ****. I get to piece it back togather after she hits stuff... wish she had some taste in cars.. but then again I'd be pissed if she was using a third gen as a bumper car..

Re: photoshoot with Scoobydoo's T/A, my Z, and my fiance's IROC

My girl is 100% into cars. She was actually the one who talked me into tracking down the IROC my parents had when I was growing up... found it and bought it. She loves driving the cars around... no bumper cars here...

I also agree that you guys really do set the bar high. One day my car will be back to the condition it was when my father and I made the trip to the dealership in 89 to pick it up. Its close considering its age, just needs painted, the wheels refinished and new center caps, which I might add are a PITA to find! When I do the paint I will replace all the weatherstrip.

Under the hood the car is clean and bone stock so that will go untoched. Underneath it needs a new cat and new rubber and some fresh undercoating but thats all. No body damage, interior is pretty much mint other then it needs the wheel recovered and a new console since someone drilled a hole in it for some reason??

Here is how I picked it up after 17 years in someone elses hands... not to far from when we traded it in in dec 1991...

engine bay, all original except the battery

damn hole!

with its big brother

getting some sun

It will be a year or two but I will be up with you guys soon...

and PS... HUGE NECK!

Re: photoshoot with Scoobydoo's T/A, my Z, and my fiance's IROC

That's really cool #1 that your dad owned an Iroc when you were young. Then #2 that you were able to find it in the condition that you did vs a pile of rust with multiple colors like many of them have ended up!!

I somehow doubt I'll be running out anytime soon to find the 1978 Malibu Classic Station wagon 4 Cyl 3 Speed I remember picking up with my dad when I was young.

Re: photoshoot with Scoobydoo's T/A, my Z, and my fiance's IROC

I agree, she must have told me 15 times to try to find the car. I was even to the point I almost bought the nearly identical car from cali. She told me not to but to atleast try to find "the one". I was so skeptical. I mean it could have been a huge piece of junk. Much to my surprise, it looked very clean and ran excellent. The guys wanted $5K for it. It was a no brainer. Even without the history I don't feel as if it was a horrible deal.

Once I am ready to redo it, I need to find a paint shop that will let me help and teach me some things... any takers??

Blu... did you redo your fiance's car? I think you had posted you painted it. It looks amazing. If I wasn't going for the 100% original aspect I think I would also add the 4th gen T/A seats like she has. Cars look great...

Ya no kidding...we're getting married on May 23rd, and in the house we're going to be moving into, she said she wants to make the smaller room into an office area with a Camaro theme...blown up photos of both our cars on the walls, die casts, banners, the whole nine yards.

Re: photoshoot with Scoobydoo's T/A, my Z, and my fiance's IROC

Best wishes for spring then!

We are in between places right now, moved out of our apt in the city to live with her sister in the country till we found a house, now that the market is so shakey not sure when that will be but she too wants a room with our car paraphnelia (sp?) We have a lot of Camaro and Corvette stuff... books, toys, models, posters...etc.

We actually looked at this house a while back that had a finished basement with access to the back yard and had huge double french doors. I told her i wanted to remove the french doors, install a service station glass garage door, put down wood laminate floor and bring the 67 camaro into the finished basement. She was so so on that idea...

Now the house we are looking at is 170 years old and has a dairy barn that we will convert to our car haven if we get it. ((keeps fingrs crossed))
