Nearing "clone" status.
As soon as I rip out the old axle and put in the new one with a posi and rear disks and then put in a real engine, I'll go ahead and call it either a GTA or T/A clone. In the meantime, it's just clean and running well.
Kind of an unfortunate road sign there. hehe I suppose it would have been better if it read "Reliable".

I am not really sure what the difference is, but one thing that I have noticed is that the Trans Am's seem to ride slightly lower than the base firebird or something...
I have yet to really sit down and figure out what the cosmetic differences are but for some reason it is like I can spot a base firebird with the GFX, & 16" rims although they look the same there is something different.

If I could get some '91-'92 tail lights I'd jump on them but at this point the cost is somewhat rediculous for the quality I demand. All the ones I've seen have the typical plastic grid separation problem common to these lights.
As far as the ride hieght, I'm good with where it's at now. No problems with the daily drive.
Thanks for looking at my pics and providing feedback. I'm pretty proud of this car.

I almost went with that color instead of the Black I ended up doing. Looks great!!
Don't know if you can get away with it in Cali, but I've gotten away with this for my front plate for the past year without incident.....

The car's beautiful, Cadillac. But why worry about the 'status' of a model name to label your car?
Simply being a convertible already makes it special. And when you're finished adding your favorite stock parts from the various models and years(at least, that's what it looks like you're doing), your car is likely to end-up being even nicer and better than a stock GTA or TA anyway. Also, the term "clone" doesn't carry any added status either. Just being an awesome car will be all the status you'll need.
Besides, with that hood, no matter what other GTA or TA parts you install, it still won't be like either model. It'll look better.

LOOKING GOOD!!!
and i agree about the no "clone". go badgeless. yours is allready too much of an amalgamation. GTA wheels, GTA/TA/BASE ground effects, convertable, Formula/base taillights, Formula hood.... there is somthing about it that makes it not qualify as any one model. i like it.

Lookin' good man, real good. What is the name of that color? I can't say that I've seen another convertible in that color.

Candy Apple Red Metallic.
I almost can't wait to paint it again. If you look hard (or not) you can kind of see the difference in paint color from the hood to the body. That is from when I swapped the hoods. It's driving me nuts.

Re: Updated Pics: Norcal '91 Firebird Convertible
I got ya. Maybe I'm missing something, but what car is yours cloning? Is there some meaning behind Norcal convertible, other than it being a car in northern California, or just the nickname you dubbed your car?

Our TGO area is NorCal (the place with no fires currently).
I guess I want the car to be a GTA convertible so therefore the idea to clone it to that.
