1984 Z28 Convertible
My wife has an 1984 Z28 (4 seat) convertible. I was wondering if any of you could help me with info and where I can get replacement parts for the top and other hard to find parts. I will post pictures of the car later today to help in the identification of the top.
Thanks

What kind of convertible is it? Autoform? ASC? Other?
For the typical application (which yours is not) I usually would start here:

That is the million dollar question. We are unsure of who did the conversion. I was hoping that someone on this board might be able to tell us. I honestly think it is a Matrix conversion but cannot confirm this. The car has been repainted prior to my wife buying the car. So the usual emblems/plates with the matrix info are long gone.
Here are some pictures of the inside of the convertible, the inside automatic control, the relays and controls under the hood and a picture of the hydraulic pump behind the rear passenger seat. (the rear seat folds down.)
I am also looking for info about where we can get typical replacement parts. The rear trunk lid shocks do not keep the trunk lid open, also the hood shocks do not keep the hood upright. We are also looking for the plastic lower grill inserts just above the front bumper lip. The are rotted out and have broken out.
Thanks for all the info.

Whom'ever the conversion company is, it will be very likely you will need to have a custom top designed for your specific application. Try contacting top suppliers (like Tops Online) for more information.
The reason I say this, is I have personally never seen any aftermarket company offer a 3rd gen top other than the one desgined by ASC during the Chevrolet sanctioned production run (other than now offering a rear glass window option). There were a few other individual companies that did vert conversions, but the number of those vehicles converted is very low, so today's aftermarket likely doesn't see any $$$ in redesigning and producing these tops for very few potential customers. Also many of those companies don't exist today or no longer support those older conversions.
If anyone has seen any aftermarket companies offering a 3rd gen tops other than the standard ASC type top, please contribute to the discussion.

Hello, I haven't been on this site in a while and seen your post today.
You have a matrix 3 conversion. There are no replacement parts that I know of. The trunk shocks can be matched to fit and hood ones are stock. I also believe the front bumper/ground effects are stock. The rear of the car is what is changed quite a bit. I've had a few tops made for mine at upholstry shops, they just use the old one as a template. The more expensive material holds up a lot better. The top is a simple design and easy to remove/install. I've had to bypass most of the relays in mine to keep the top working.

Thanks for the info.
I will post pictures of the car with the top up and down. I know that we have been having problems with the top coming down. I think it may be a problem with the hydraulic pump. Will do my best.

ACKRN07,
I just checked this site and seen the post, anyway here is a link to some pics I put up a while ago when someone wanted some pics. Mine is in pretty rough shape, the pics are from when the seats and carpet were out.
I'm sure yours is a matrix by the pics.
